Sintering method of ceramic glass

- Apr 06, 2018 -

1) First melt and then quench the glass material into glass pellets

2) Fill the glass pellets into the mold, and then first nucleate by a certain heat treatment, and then heating and crystallization to obtain the product.

Process: raw materials are melted, quenched into glass pellets, sieved, dried, packed into molds, nucleated, crystallized, polished, etc.

This method is currently mainly used for the production of CAS-based glass-ceramic plates. The CAS-based glass-ceramic plate has the advantages of high mechanical strength, good gloss, high corrosion resistance, no radiation, good decorative effect, and its similar pattern to natural marble. Can be used to replace natural marble.

Composition of glass-ceramics

The glass with the specific composition added with or without the nucleating agent is subjected to crystallization heat treatment under controlled conditions so that the original single glass phase forms a composite material having a uniform distribution of the microcrystalline phase and the glass phase. The difference between crystallized glass and ordinary glass is that the former part is a crystal and the latter is all amorphous. The surface of the glass-ceramics can exhibit opaque bodies of natural stone stripes and colors, while the glass is a transparent body of various colors and different procedures.

The comprehensive properties of glass-ceramics mainly determine three major factors: the composition of the original composition, the size and number of microcrystals, the nature and quantity of the residual glassy phase.

The latter two factors are determined by the crystallisation glass-ceramics heat treatment technology. The original composition of glass-ceramics is different, and the types of crystal phases are also different, for example, β-wollastonite, β-quartz, fluorophlogopite, lithium disilicate, etc. Various crystal phases give different properties of the glass-ceramics, in the above In the crystal phase, β-wollastonite crystal phase has the properties required for building glass-ceramics. For this reason, CaO-Al2O3-SiO2 system is often used as the original composition system of architectural glass-ceramics. The general composition is shown in Table 1.
